Our flaneur-reporter recently spied these in New York at a menswear trade show. They’re a small sampling of the wide selection of slippers made by Hadleigh’s, which is based in Dallas, Texas.
If you’re wondering what the embroidered logo is, it’s more than just the initial H representing the brand. The letter is actually comprised of two figures: an ancient gentleman commissioning a tradesman. The full name of the company is Hadleigh’s Bespoke, though it’s not quite clear why.
Brummell supposedly used three craftsmen to make his gloves: one for the hand, one for the fingers and one for the thumb, and one can certainly see him having his slipper uppers and lowers made by specialists.
Hadleigh’s slippers are priced at $495.
